The overlay will provide you with a variety of options to choose from, but for now, let’s focus on recording your gameplay. Remember that this is the default hotkey, so if you changed it in the previous step, it won’t work. If your GeForce Experience is currently running, you can also simply press the Nvidia Shadowplay hotkey on your keyboard: Alt + Z. This overlay can be launched at any time, even if you’re not currently gaming. Clicking Share will open the in-game overlay. You can access Nvidia Shadowplay through the small Share icon near the top-right corner of GeForce Experience, next to the Settings Cog and your user profile. Make sure your GeForce Experience is open too or, at the very least, running in the background. Before you proceed, open the application or game you wish to record. It’s time to learn how to enable Nvidia Shadowplay. Turn it off by clicking Done in the Settings and then simply toggling the option off. If you find that you can’t change certain settings, it’s probably because your Instant Replay is currently on. Feel free to click around and explore the other sections. There are also several different settings to look into. It’s useful if you’ll be playing a game while also using voice communication. Audio: This section lets you separate and mute certain audio tracks.If you’re not sure what Instant Replay is, check out our section on it below. Video capture: In this section, you can set the video quality, resolution, fps, and length of the Instant Replay feature.Keyboard shortcuts: Adjust the shortcut used to bring up Nvidia Shadowplay during gameplay, as well as other handy key bindings.Here are a few other useful things you can do in this section: Make sure you check it out prior to recording, especially if you have limited space on one of your drives. In Recordings, you can select the folder in which your video recordings will end up.Without this, you won’t be able to record at all. Scroll all the way down in Settings until you find Privacy Control, then enable Desktop Capture.The two crucial settings that you absolutely should adjust before recording are Privacy Control and Recordings: Step 3: Adjust your settingsĭirectly below the toggle for the in-game overlay, click Settings to tinker with a few options before you start recording. If it is, look to the left and toggle In-Game Overlay on. Check whether your hardware is compatible with Nvidia Shadowplay. Scroll down to the Features section and click on In-Game Overlay. When that’s done, click the little Cog icon in the top-right corner to enter the Settings. Start by letting the software update itself as well as download and install any new drivers. If you haven’t used GeForce Experience for a little while (or ever), you may need to optimize the program and take a look at a few settings before accessing Nvidia Share.
